virgin javascriptor…

I am new at using java script within my web pages and have tried to use a script from javascript.com. however i’ve inserted the code and nothing happens. I’ve noticed in the code included within the head tag that the two files Config.js and Menu.js are called, what is the use of these and where do i find/ how do i create them?
