browser resize

I made a web site in 1024 x 768 resolution.. and I would like it to resize for people’s browsers automatically. Is there a script that rezises the page to suit people’s browers? Or a script that will make the user’s screen settings panel pop up?

HELP !!

thank- you Mels

@JPnycOct 21.2004 — A single all purpose script? No, you have to write a specific one for your page. I know, I've done it before (mostly for laughs)

@melsbitauthorOct 21.2004 — yes I would like to have a script to apply to each page on the site.. for anyone using resolution 800 x 600 on their browser settings so they see the whole page with out scrolling. Can you help me with this?

here is a link to my site...

@JPnycOct 21.2004 — As I said, there is no all purpose magical script for this. You'd have to write one for each page specifically, and it's a lot of work. I can only give you pointers and a basic idea how it's done.

forget about it. you'll only upset your users. i for one would never come back to your site. what gives you the right to resize my browser's window, just because you're incapable of designing a site to look good at whatever resolution their machine's are set to.

i use FF and always have multiple tabs open at any given time. so, you're script would affect everyone of those webpages, not just your own. that in itself might cause problems with my browser notwithstanding those pages themselves.

just don't do it. think of another solution. or give up.

@JPnycOct 21.2004 — I don't think resizing their window was his intent, but rather resizing his page to fit in any size window. It's do-able, I've done it. But it's work and I don't get the impression this person is a javascripter. He's looking for a ready made script to plug in.

@JPnycOct 21.2004 — Ah, I just clicked his link. It's a flash site. Forget it, it can't be done, and certainly not with javascript.

Flash is resizable anyway, as it's a vector-basedd graphics tool. he should already know that!

@JPnycOct 21.2004 — Well I don't know Flash, but can you resize the swf based on a window size that you get with the script? I wasn't aware flash could interact with the browser at all. Perhaps he can get the window size with JS, and then pass it to Flash.
