I run a website http://www.mature-matchmaking-dating.com A dating site. I designed myslef, but had it build for me. Now I am working on it myself. I joined the forum to get more knowledge, as my webdesign knowledge is pretty much 0. I hired a promotion company to promote the site for, they wotk trough seo, the results have been pretty bad so far, does anyone have similar expirinces with these kind of companies. Since my expiriences were bad, I decided to do the promtion myslef, by creating click through pages with nonsene text on them such as http://flamesgirlshotbabesanime.blogspot.com/ and <http://www.webspawner.com/users/frederik5/index.html my hope is that people will find these pages and click trough to my site. So far no results in google. So does any one have advice on how to get your rankings up? Does pay per click work, or is that just a waste of money? And does it get customers or people that just visit the site? I used word tracker to find out what keyword are good to use, I used these words in my click trough page, but can you also use other words, as words might generate traffic, but they have little to do with my site. Thanks for reading this, Frederik ?
@Alex_YurutsOct 22.2004 — #I cant understand what are you expecting for with these click through pages with nonsene text. Stupid traffic to the entry page? And What? May be its useful to spend money on good SEO from reliable and responsible company or expert or other promotion technics?
Civilized methods of doing business are always more effective...
@rsdOct 22.2004 — #The larger search engines will see that your doorway pages do not contain content that is pertinent to the main site and could possibly drop you altogether for trying to spam the search engine.
@IntensityOct 26.2004 — #Any revelant SEO campaign is going to require a very good amount of research and take a while to show its effects. I recommend 6 months with mine. See is this way, you can blow all your money into PPC campaigns and pay $2000 in maybe a year. (more or less depending on your keyword selection and your advertising budget) and with that money I can build an excellent SEO campaing to bring in traffic for the next decades to come.
SEO is long term. PPC is short term. Combine both of those and you are on track. Organic results amount to about 70% of all search engine traffic. PPC only for about 30%. (Google)
