what the correct way to put KEY WORDS so search engines will find them?

i want to put KEY WORDS that will be found by search engines like google
where do i pu them in the html fle?

@soccer362001Oct 05.2004 — You would want to use a meta tag <meta name="keywords" content=""/> put that in the <head> tag.

@LeeUOct 05.2004 — Google doesn't use the keywords meta tag that much anymore. You can use it for other engines, but for Google and a few others, put the keywords into the document, near the beginning of the sentences.
