convert a psd file to an html page, HOW??

i have dreamweaver, fireworks and photoshop.

i have never done this before. i am asked to turn 4 psd files into 4 html pages. what is the easiest and fastest way to do this?

i have read a little about slicing, but i really do not have a clue where to begin.

if anyone can help me out that would be great!

thanks!!?

@neenach2002Sep 18.2004 — I don't think you can turn an image into an HTML file.

@sanjuTauthorSep 18.2004 — i have been told i can slice the image, then export them to dreamweaver.

i have done that, and the slices get put into a table in the html page.

i don't know if this is the correct method or not.

also, how can i enable the text in particular slices to be editable?

@neenach2002Sep 18.2004 — Ah....

What you are doing is converting the image itself into a sliced HTML document in photoshop. The text cannot be edited inside of the slices as far as I know.

What you are doing is correct as far as I know.

@sanjuTauthorSep 18.2004 — THANKS!!!

u helped clarify things for me.?

someone told me that in order to edit the text, someone deletes the slice and adds text, forms, buttons, etc from dreamweaver.

@neenach2002Sep 18.2004 — Yep.

Somehow the image is inserted into the HTML document when you convert it. I'm not 100% sure how it works, but I'm pretty sure that's what it does. ?

Glad to help:p

@ray326Sep 18.2004 — You need to learn how to realize the designs represented in those PSDs without using the image slicing method. Read Zeldman's 'designing with web standards' to understand why and to get some insight on how.

@WickedWebmasterJul 31.2006 — Check this program out: Site Grinder

It converts psd files into fully editable web pages almost automatically.
