Only 1/4 pages indexed w/ Google??

Hello,

For some reason Google only has 1/4 or so of my web pages indexed with them at any given time??
I cannot figure out why they don’t have all or most of my pages?

I tried many different things like shortening the page file length and putting Bread Crumb Links throughtout the site but it seems it still didn’t help.

I have a Framed website and this may be an issue, but I do have links on the frame files going to the 2nd and 3rd levels of my site so the Google bots and crawl the entire site.

Do I need to “Pay For Inclusion” to get fully indexed w/ Google??

Thanks for any help!

@IntensitySep 10.2004 — As long as you have valid links into your framed area then the Googleboot will find it. I personally would mess around with the multiple submission of your webpages since this might be considered spam.

  • 1. Get rid of frames. Been there, done that. It is bad news if you want to be indexed and have good ranking in SE's.

  • 2. Build popularity with Google by establishing quality, related backlinks.

@PikoTechSep 19.2004 — First off, Google will not penalise you for multiple submissions, although as they state, they are not guarenteed to crawl all pages you submit to them using their form.

I have a website where roughly 50% of links are indexed, however this has increased from 25% over the past few months.

    Main reasons:

  • - Don't put too many links on one page, google won't follow any more than 100 generally.

  • - Try not to have too long a query string on your links (e.g a whole list of links to pages like "/default.asp?Id=221&z=4324&User=2323") Google will only index so many dynamic links like these because Googlebot has to visit other places too ?

  • - TIME. Googlebot never indexes a whole website straight away (unless it's very small of course) it can often take many months of Googlebot visiting and re-visiting for him to find all your links.

    @mufschSep 20.2004 — Hello,

GoogleBot has been visiting my site every day last month, but didn't cached my resent changes to my WebSite.

    Would you know why?

    Thank you.
