String to ascii using javascript????

can i convert a string into a ascii string?
and is it possible to extract the string back after this coversion???

@AdamGundryAug 27.2004 — I'm not quite sure what you mean, but perhaps the functions [url=http://devedge.netscape.com/library/manuals/2000/javascript/1.3/reference/string.html#1196647]String.charCodeAt()[/url] and [url=http://devedge.netscape.com/library/manuals/2000/javascript/1.3/reference/string.html#1225094]String.fromCharCode()[/url] will be useful.
