using notepad.exe in html

given this href:

<a href=”somefile.txt”>somefile</a>

if you click on that link, it will show the contents of somefile.txt in an html browser.

is there any way in which you can open the text file using notepad instead of embedded in a browser?

@AdamGundryAug 25.2004 — Bear in mind that Jona's solution, while interesting, will open the source in the browser default HTML editor, not necessarily Notepad. Normally, this shouldn't be a problem, but it's something to remember. Not everyone has Notepad on their OS.
