Using %username% in a hyperlink.

I wanted to create a hyperlink that users can click on to open their folder on the network via ftp.

If I type ” ftp://files.server.non/user/%username%/My Documents ” into a browser, it converts it to ” ftp://files.server.non/myname/My%20Documents “, prompts me for my username and password, then opens my My Document folder.

If I put the same line in a hyperlink, however, it returns ” ftp://files.server.non/%25username%25/My%20Documents “, replacing the % with it’s code %25.

Is there anyway to code this to work, or another alternative I could use?

Thanks!

@PhillMcAug 20.2004 — This will have to be done with Server Side Scripting, a list of users, and some hand coded methods in the language of your choosing. Head to the .NET or the PHP forum. They'll hook you up. ?
