Which directory do I install PHP under Linux?

Hi,

I’m running a Linux emulator (Cygwin) on my machine (Win98SE). I really need some guidance in which directory folder to unzip and install PHP 5.0.0.

If you’re wondering why Linux, well the website I’ve been contracted to upgrade has its server and database system (PostgreSQL) based on Linux. Fun eh?

Any help will be GREATLY appreciated!

look over any documentation that comes with php and/or check their site, i would assume, it doesn't matter where you install it to.
