I personally have always used Homebrew, both on my personal Mac and my work Mac. PHP is just one of many tools I have installed via it, so guess I value the ease of using it over figuring out how to manually install each and every one of them. 🤷
I suppose you could[compile it yourself](https://www.php.net/manual/en/install.macosx.compile.php) , but I would avoid that at all costs, myself: then you have to deal with all the underlying dependencies that Homebrew takes care of.
Don't know if there's something comparable to XAMPP for Mac that's reasonably up to date? I used to use that years ago, but I don't think it's kept up with the recent major versions of PHP.
Of course, another thing I have installed via Homebrew is Docker, so anything "serious" I'm doing is done with Docker containers running whatever versions of PHP (and PostgreSQL, and Apache, and...) I need for that project. :) (Talk about adding more stuff to my storage. ;) )

Hi! Is there is a php build for macOS where I don’t have to install third party crap like homebrew or macports. I just don’t want to install a bunch of stuff to clutter my MacBook that I will use once for php and that will be difficult to completely remove.So do you have any idea where can I get just php and directly install it? Like a build, a dmg file or something, please, I really need it
