phpMailer with Gmail SMTP configuration

I’m fairly new to the phpMailer online form submission PHP. I’ve got everything set up using the Gmail SMTP and all appears to work as expected when on the MAMP local build. However as soon as all files are uploaded to either the Test or Live site there is an SMTP Error (111) thrown. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
