Images on webpages

I’ve recently changed some icons on our web application and all they are are jpgs or bitmap files (around 1 or 2k in size). Since changing some of them it has shown up some issues on our site. It seems some machines have problems downloading these images and IE 6 just sits there saying it’s downloading imagex.jpg. It seems fine on all our XP Pro machines but on Win2k Pro or older it’s hit and miss.
These are asp pages but it’s html script so thought it best to put it in here as it’s not an asp code issue. Temp internet files are set to automatically refresh but as these are dynamic asp pages that shouldn’t be the issue.

Does anyone know what may cause this to be happening?

Thanks for any info.
