Password Protection

I’ve got a .htaccess password protection on my root directory as a temporary block on my site.

The issue is it’s conflicting with another folder, so when I enter my password and go into a sub directory it’s asking for it over and over again.

Is there a way of making it JUST apply to the files in the root directory?

@NogDogApr 08.2021 — Only way I know of would be to put a .htaccess in each sub-directory directly under the protected directory, with Require all granted in it (as per [this stackoverflow page](https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1431378/how-to-remove-htaccess-password-protection-from-a-subdirectory)).
