Music across entire site WITHOUT FRAMES?

Hey folx, I’m finding out that frames are a bad thing, but I’m using one to allow music to play across my website. Naturally, if the music file is put on each page, it’ll start over every time the page is loaded or refreshed. Is there a way to play it like how i want it played without using frames???

@PeOfEoJul 11.2004 — No, there is not. My solution would be to not use music. Music is not neccessarily a good thing, many users, including myself, find it very annoying. I am listening to Yingwie Malmsteen - another time right now on winamp, and if I heard a midi or something blare over it I would be quite upset. Also mp3 music on a site can take longer to load and actually startle the user if it comes out of no where. Music is not the mark of a professional, but of an amature.

@rhsundergroundJul 12.2004 — i agree with peo on this, but if you must have music (which i could only see reasonable for a band) then your best bet would be to make the site in flash, but that would cut down on your audience. you would then have to offer an html site for those with less time/dialup. which means that updating would be a pain in the arse and would take a long time and a galaxy far, far away. and you would then probably stay up all night, which would put a strain on your family, and you would end up homeless and alone for all eternity. or something like that.
