getting cookie

Hi guys
I need help with the code

<script language=”javascript” type=”text/javascript”>
if (get_cookie(“name”)!=””)
alert(document.cookie)

</script>

I want to get the valsu of cookie(“name”) but donno how

my code is not working. I have set cookie on login page but want to recieve the value on the main page using the code above but I’m not getting it ?(((((
