Headline Wordlist

I’ve got a series of headlines from various media sources. I want to run each headline through a function to see if it’s relevant to my topic.

I could create a word list, say if it was about COVID for example my word list will be

COVID
COVID-19
Pandemic
Wuhan
Vaccine

Now I appreciate i might miss recognize some headlines but how can I do this and if there a better way?

The web service provides a generic list of news articles including a news headlines and I want to pass each one through a function to determine if it relates to my specific topic.

I’m imagining a word list of words relating to my topic. If the headline contains anything from my word list then it will return true if not false and be ignored.

ideally it would be good to have a score if above say seven it is automatically added to my database if between five and seven flag it for review and if lower than five ignored.

I’m really wondering how my function would work, I have a headline which is a array of text. And I can Create a list of possible relative words
