I work for a relatively new company (company 1) which recently acquired a new company/division (company 2) and added another company/division internally (company 3). Company 2 has came with an existing website (albeit not a good one).
I would like to revamp company 2’s website content and create a website (content, navigation, etc.) for company 3.
Company 1 has the Main website. It is currently structured as follows:
Main Menu – Navigation (top) – Company 1, Company 2, Company 3
Company 1 – has 7 page dropdown
Company 2 – has 1 page dropdown (with a link to their existing website/different domain address)
Company 3 – has a 1 page dropdown
Knowing the information above, my question is this – would it be best to:
1) Create separate, independent websites for all three company/divisions
2) Add Company 2 and 3 content and pages to the Main website so each has approximately 7-10 pages.
3) Both – create independent websites and also expand Main website
Which would be best from an SEO standpoint?
