Enum Data Type

Was just wondering if there is way to get input from a user through a scanner object and store it as an enum eg. String example = scan.nextLine(); be something like enum example = scan.nextEnum();

@HarshShahApr 13.2020 — You need to use the valueOf() method to convert the String to the enum, something like this...

Type value = Type.valueOf(scanner.next().toUpperCase());

Or if the user is entering the enum value then use the values() array like this...

Type value = Type.values()[scanner.nextInt()];
