How do I remove a HOSTS ANNOYING BANNERS USING JAVASCRIPT

Good Afternoon
I am new to Site building and I enjoy trying some of the scripts from javascript source http://javascript.internet.com/. I have recently purchased a domain name and have asked a Host to host the site for me free of charge – http://www.uk-jedi.co.uk. They of course do this on the premise that I agree to host their Banner. I don’t have a problem with including the banner in my page, I just don’t want it to be visible. I tried breaking into new frames but every frame will contain their banner. I noticed when I used the ‘snow’ script http://javascript.internet.com/bgeffects/snow.html that if I set th snow.gif to be massive that the gifs completely obscured the banner. This led me to beleive that their must be a way of obscuring their banner so I can host my page.

Does anyone know of any way I can do this. Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks

Simon:rolleyes:

@Zach_ElfersFeb 10.2003 — This depends on what provider you have for your webpage. GeoCities adds are very easy to remove because the GeoCities server adds the code for the adds at the bottom of your html document. You can USUALLY get rid of them by typing <noscript><noscript><noscript> at the VERY END of your HTML code. That method might also work for your provider, I am not sure.

Doesn't that kindof defete the purpose of putting the banner on the page in the first place? If you aren't paying for the hosting, you probably shouldn't be trying to remove the banner. I'd be willing to bet you had to agree that you'd display their banners...

 • 1. Zach - Thanks for the advice

 • 2. Pyro - I am not trying to remove the banner.

 • 3. Dave Leonard Clark the 1st (?) Thanks for the moral opinions on my question. I didn't actually say I would implement the code. I just asked if it was possible and, if it is, what is the code to do it with. (Its for my research and I have to prove it works) So if you know the answer I would appreciate some help. If you want to cast your opinions on people, then maybe you should join an opinions message board. For all code experts out there, if you would like to help me with my puzzle, please reply to my post.
