hi i am makink a site on geocities and when i open it there is geocities something on the lower left part the source code says

Geocities will add that ad code no matter what you do (besides paying for your host...), and it'll make your page terribly [url=http://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http://www.geocities.com/mguneetmakkar/]invalid[/url]. Hopefully someone else will come along who's able to suggest a good, free host.

@Ben_RogersJul 03.2004 — Good quote. ? [url=http://www.t35.com/]T35[/url] isn't so bad... if you have XHTML pages they'll be valid, but with PHP pages the ad code is parsed at the very end of the file, but that's only 1 error. I think it'd be good for you.

@gohankid77Jul 04.2004 — I've had the same problem with Tripod. I recently started learning XML and XSL(T). With XSL, all you are doing is creating an stylesheet for XML. Then XSLT transforms the XML document using the XSL stylesheet. You basically still write (X)HTML code, but the code won't look EXACTLY the same as normal (X)HTML code. I created a test document to test my knowledge.

Then type test/test.xml to go to my test page.

Want to know something? Tripod and Geocities aren't prepared for the future. They can't put their ads in XML documents! Just view the source. Then go to:

http://gohankid7.tripod.com/index.htm

View the source after closing out the ad. It adds some script in there.

Bottom line: change hosts or learn XML and XSL(T) to make your documents just as awesome.
