Invalid function exif_read_data

Something strange here. I have a script that used to work but I just tried to run it and I’m getting an error saying that function ‘exif_read_data’ is invalid. My host is running php V5.6 which the manual says is supported. My phpinfo shows the following:
‘–enable-exif’
‘–enable-exif=shared’

Wondering what my host could have changed to make this function no longer valid.

@ginerjmauthorMay 29.2018 — #I think I have found the answer. My host apparently did a re-build and left the extension out. Waiting for action from them.

Can't find the option to mark this answered, but it is.
