How do I disect Javascript from a website?

For example, this website. How would I dissect and look at how certain effects are done?
It looks sooo fancy. MASSIVE improvement from before.

I love the stylish look.

Other websites: trying to follow code is super hard. It’s a big mess and/or it’s minified.

Do the expert see an effect or animation and immediately know how its done?
I can’t imagine someone sifting through and deciphering 1000’s of lines of code – surely it’s like joining shredded paper?

Thanks.

@FlarumMigratorApr 05.2018 — I personally use Chrome Dev Tools, right click on a area of the page in Chrome and at the bottom of the context menu there is a option to Inspect.

Here are some links with information on how to use the Developer Tools, use your GoogleFu and search around for "Chrome Developer Tools" and you should be able to find more guides also.
