a little help here

I have noticed a couple site which has a little Icon before the website-address on the adressbar… I tried to figure it out somehow, but have failed.. ? please help me out here, cuz I really want to know how its done…? codes are acceptable… ?

Name it favicon.ico

thanks for the help, but only one Q... Im not making it online on a website Im making it at first on my computer, so could be the reason it doenst work? ord can I just add the indecfile and the favicon.icon in the same folder?? sorry if I seem like a moron right now *lol*
