WebDeveloper toolbar not working with FireFox 0.9

I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this problem. I installed, restarted, and uninstalled like 5 times, but the toolbar part is still blank. The side bar seems to work, though. Anyways, I’m just kind of lost as to why it doesn’t work. FF 0.8 and FF 0.9 can’t be that different, and, anyways, it (mozilla.org) said they were compatible…

Anybody know wtf’s going on?

@spufiJun 18.2004 — After I installed FF 0.9, I had to go and reinstall the extension, but it worked after I closed the browser and then reopened it.

@Ben_RogersauthorJun 18.2004 — Darn, really? I've done the whole deal from like 3 different sites (the themes page, mozdev, & the homepage) at least twice each and it still won't work. And I lost all my extenstions, too... I'm not heartbroken tho, I only had two. Should I try downloading FF again? Or just reinstalling it?

EDIT: Heh. "I have to watch my language." :p

@ray326Jun 18.2004 — I think .9 is few bottles short of a six pack at this point. The Web Developer stuff is working for me but IE View doesn't show up on the context menu. The browser does seem to perform a little quicker though.

@Ben_RogersauthorJun 19.2004 — Heh, that's an original one. I'd just say it's f*c*e* up, but I'm not feeling all too creative. Actually, I'm going to see if I can't get .8 back... .9 is pissing me off, it has crashed 3 times already (all 3 times Java was involved) and doesn't allow me to use my extensions.

@davidbrentJun 20.2004 — Are you sure your talking about Mozilla Firefox?

I'd dance naked on top of Sydney Opera House the day my Firefox crashes, aka never!

@Ben_RogersauthorJun 20.2004 — WTF are you talking about? Firefox crashes all the time. Mozilla never did, but middle clicking links is now a habit, so I can't go back. But, yeah, it only happens because of that... right now I don't have many tabs open (only 4) but usually I'll have around 8... and if I have two flash games running... it just dies. Oh, by the way- I uninstalled all my Mozilla based things, and went back to Internet Explorer.

And then I reinstalled Firefox 0.9 clean ? It works now, but the WD toolbar doesn't show.. I have to go tools>web developer to access it. It's kind of a pain, but it prevents me from turning images on and off like 20 times. That's crashed Firefox a few times as well. Still a pain in the ass. And IE View doesn't work at all...

@davidbrentJun 20.2004 — I can say honestly, my Firefox has never crashed!

@Ben_RogersauthorJun 20.2004 — Well, count yourself lucky. But MS did the same thing when I had 10, 12 IE's open. So at least with FF it's only 1 program crashing. ?
