How can we rank universal keywords

Hi,

How can we rank the universal keywords in major search engines like google and yahoo. Eg – Keywords: Website design, web development, SEO services, ect….

Most of them using local or nationwide keywords for SEO optimization. Eg – Keywords: Website design New York, Web development USA, SEO services in New York, ect…

I think universal keywords ranking is very tough. So, if anyone have ideas about easy way to rank the universal keywords in major search engines. Kindly share your suggestion with us.

Look at who has the keywords now. You need to build content that is better than what they are doing on a site that has a better chance of ranking. If a universal keyword is being dominated by major sites with great content, then you need even better content that is more relevant [I]plus[/I] you need all of the SEO features as well. It will be hard to rank above sites like wikipedia, yelp, and wix if you are a small player in web design.

Of more note, it is worth looking at the page you are trying to rank on to see if even that is going to matter as much. In looking at Google for 'web design', I see at least 4 ads at the top of the list, which means that even if you rank, you are likely to be below the fold on many browsers or systems. You might be better of focusing on longer tail keywords that aren't has buried with ads that push your ranking down.

(Side comment: It seems that the things Google says are bad for sites to do, it is doing more of - like pushing results below the fold with only ads above the fold....)
