@NogDogFeb 07.2017 — #I would look for a CMS that is designed from the ground up for the type of site you want to create. Wordpress if fine for blogs, as that's what it was originally designed for. When you start patching it with add-ons to turn it into an on-line store, you then have a bloated square peg being forced into a smaller round hole. In that case, something like Magento is probably more to the point and more likely to have been robustly tested for that designed purpose. www.opensourcecms.com has been around for awhile as a place you can look at many free options -- not sure if there are any better comparison sites or not, so a bit of googling might be in order.
@Endive_SoftwareFeb 15.2017 — #hey.., here i want to suggest something if you are looking for Magento. As Magento 2.0 version is launched 2 years ago there is so many advantages over Magento 1.0.I Read a blog in that they really well describe the basic and important differences between older and new version of Magento- http://bit.ly/2lbHhnS
@rootFeb 18.2018 — #More to the question, how many people need access to update the system...
A CMS which offers flexible but secure access for users in the charity to add content or moderate public interactions in the built in features like message boards and so on... Depends what you are looking for.
Make a list first and get a sense of the admin structure you want to have in place (in case those elements at some point may prove useful so don't dismiss them)
Then look at a few, as in install and configure and have a look at a few.
