load order

How would I specify which elements of a page i want to load first?
Like i want text to load before images start downloading.

@PeOfEoMay 25.2004 — generally that is the way it works. Otherwise stuff will download in the order it is in your html. You can preload images with js though.

@pcs800authorMay 25.2004 — yeah, i have done the JS preload thing with some pics, but someone in another forum was talking about setting the order of page elements loading so the user does not have to wait for everything to download before they see something.
