Anyone know what this kind of image carousel is called?

Hello,

Would anyone know what this type of image display is called? Or better how to make it in javascript or css3? I’ve been looking all over at other templates for what this is called, and I’ve seen them before, but cant find them now.

@PsuFanauthorJul 21.2016 — Thanks, but did you look at the link? I need to make it look like the one above. I haven't found any examples of carousels (if that's what this is even classified) that look like the example above.

@TrainJul 22.2016 — That was done in flash.

So, googling flash carousel

@PsuFanauthorJul 22.2016 — Sorry, I guess I'm not being clear. I understand it was done in Flash, I want to replicate in Javascript. I'm sure they exist already, but don't know what to search for. Your links don't provide any that go similar looking carousels. Carousel probably isn't the right term because it doesn't repeat.

@TrainJul 22.2016 — Got me beat, sorry I could not help out more.

Think it might be a non-repeat flash carousel my self.

@PsuFanauthorJul 22.2016 — Hey, no problem. Haven't you ever seen one like that before? I've seen them before elsewhere, I thought they were more popular and there would be examples out there. Guess I'll have to start from scratch. Not too well developed in the HTML5/CSS3/JS animation world yet. I'm more of a Flash guy myself, but it needs to be mobile compatible ?

@TrainJul 22.2016 — First time I ever seen one in my 17 years of being on the internet.

Might want to rethink flash as it is on its way out.

Fact is I do watch you tube with HTML5.

@PsuFanauthorJul 22.2016 — Do you know if its possible to achieve that scrolling via hover position feature in css3 or javascript?

@TrainJul 22.2016 — Mobile does not have hover. Might want to forget that idea.

@jedaisoulJul 22.2016 — Hi and welcome to the site.

Like flash, hover animation is on the way out. This is because mobiles now account for 40% to 50% of browsing, and they do not have hover states! So I'd seriously reconsider bothering to emulate this flash animation...

@PsuFanauthorJul 22.2016 — Yikes, I didn't think about that. What about click (tap) and drag to scroll and let go to activate, possible in javascript? As well as hover for scroll on desktops.

That's what the client wants, site to be recreated as is, Flash-less + update content.

@SempervivumJul 22.2016 — Some time ago I created something similar, curtain like. Might be adjusted to fit your example approximately. This is pure CSS.
