Hi,
Relative newbie here with a topic that spans both client-side and server-side.
For background, we’ve been using Squarespace to build our customer facing website. I’m pleased with the platform, and find most of the out of the box features have worked for our business. However, we are now at a point that we are offering a subscription based product and need to implement Stripe for customer payments. While Stripe’s checkout form is relatively straightforward (and avoids us collecting any card info directly and getting into PCI compliance), it does require communicating with our server. Since we can’t implement any server code on our Squarespace site, we have our issue.
Questions:
First, the front end question – is it practical to build the site on Squarespace, then “export” the resulting HTML to post on a platform that permits server code? Any major considerations here, or alternatives that allows us to make use of the Squarespace or similar “drag and drop” site design features?
Second, any recommendations on platforms where we can “import” our html and host on site, with also the ability to run basic server code (e.g. creating basic objects and sending charge requests to Stripe).
Thanks in advance for your thoughts!
JB
