what to use? Cannot use ASP and don’t need all the php functions

Hi there

I need to find a way of getting a javascript i have to search a folder for all the jpg files and add them to an array. I was told that i would ahve to use either ASP or php. After subsequent online searches i found i cannot use ASP as I have XP home edition and php seems to need to have a server to run.

I am in the early stages of development of a very basic website which need a simple picture viewer that can be easily updated…

I am currently at a loss as to what would be the best option.

Thanks in advance
minibussey

ASP needs a server, too. They are both ad-ons for web servers. Get the Win versions of Apache and PHP or better yet see if the PHP site has a php/server bundle and you're good to go.
