width of menu items

I am trying to put a horizontal menu along my web page but each parent item is twice the width of the text which makes it disappear off the edge of the window.

the page is

and the menu.js file for the structure is

I understand, to a certain extent, javascript but this one’s really puzzled me

I f you could please find where in the scripting the thing that changes the width is, that would be really appreciated
