Where to get a domain name?

I built my website from scratch using Notepad++. I am ready to launch my website.

Where can I get a domain name for free? I don’t mind paying if I have too.

@Kevin2Oct 04.2015 — You're probably going to have to pay for a domain name no matter what. Even if you get it "free" through a hosting service for the first year or so you'll have to pay to renew it.

There are free web hosting services out there. Google is your friend. ?

@Bruce_AthertonOct 12.2015 — Before getting a domain name your have to make sure that the company: take into account the other services included by the registrar, their customer support, testimonies, etc.
