my mouse-over doesn’t work. help!

hey everybody. i’m a beginner who doesn’t know a thing about dhtml or java… and i need help. i hope you’re getting sick of the mouse-over problems!

this is my code:
[SIZE=1]
<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv=”Content-Type” content=”text/html; charset=windows-1252″>
<meta name=”GENERATOR” content=”Microsoft FrontPage 4.0″>
<meta name=”ProgId” content=”FrontPage.Editor.Document”>
<title>journal</title>
<script language=”JavaScript” fptype=”dynamicanimation”>
<!–
function dynAnimation() {}
function clickSwapImg() {}
//–>
</script>
<script language=”JavaScript1.2″ fptype=”dynamicanimation” src=”animate.js”>
</script>
</head>

<body onload=”dynAnimation()”>

<p dynamicanimation=”fpAnimformatRolloverFP1″ fprolloverstyle=”font-family: Comic Sans MS; font-size: 14pt; font-weight: bold”
onmouseover=”rollIn(this)” onmouseout=”rollOut(this)” language=”Javascript1.2″>journal </p>
</body>
</html>
[/SIZE]

can you tell me what’s missing so that it works on the internet. it works in the preview section in frontpage, but not on the net. it’s a simple change-the-font effect …
please advice!!!

@VladdyMay 13.2004 — What's missing is simplicity.

Just leave proprietory FP crap out of your page and start with basic content.

If you would like to add mouseover dynamic effects look into CSS :hover pseudo-class.

@jmartinauthorMay 13.2004 — okay, thanks. i'll look into that. thing is i don't know anything about css.. i know what it is, that's all.

can you work css in frontpage?

@VladdyMay 13.2004 — While all WYSIWYG editors create sub-par code, FP is among the worst. If you want to have a good site, start hand-coding it.

@jmartinauthorMay 13.2004 — sure, i believe it could be much better. it's just the easy access you sometimes need, you know. i'll maybe take the time to study hand-coding sometime.

@jmartinauthorMay 16.2004 — but what about the place where it says "src=...animate.js" ?? doesn't it have to be more precise? where, in fact, is the javascript?

@VladdyMay 16.2004 — Are you sure you need this animation?

Even if you do, make sure the page works without it first, then see if you can accomplish it with CSS, then add scripting .

@jmartinauthorMay 16.2004 — oh man! you speak like i should know what you're talking about! ?
