loading webpages into <frame>’s

hello;

this question is not a JS question I know but I figured I would see if anyone has any insight into this issue;

I have a frameset and in one frame I load http://www.ups.com – NO PROBLEM;

HOWEVER if I try to load http://www.hotmail.com instead the hotmail page completely overtakes the original framset page;

any thoughts?

thanks

@VladdyMay 07.2004 — hotmail.com must be using a "bust-out-frames" script. Turn scripting off and see if you get the same behaviour.

On the general note: why are you trying to frame other pages in the first place?

... what is it today... "Lets talk about FRAMES" day or something...... :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Seriously, I was just thinking that myself. There have been about 10+ threads on the very subject of frames/iframes today. It's weird.

@VladdyMay 07.2004 — I guess it can be attributed to the well known phenomenon that a persons ability to think straight declines as 5PM on Friday approaches ? ? ?

@dsdsdsdsdauthorMay 07.2004 — hello vladdy; thanks for your response;

I would appreciate it if you could give me some insight or direction into what is a bust-out-frame; Google pointed me to a porn site when I looked up the phrase;

to answer your question about why - I am putting together a tutorial for grandmas and grandpas which refers to other webpages; having webpages popping up all over a computer illiterate person's monitor is not good; so I use frames to keep everything under control;

thanks
