Problems with tags on a .shtml page

Hi everybody

These tags works fine on a .html page, but I can’t get them to work on a .shtml page…

Anybody knows the trick?

<a name=”top”></a>

<a href=”#top></a>

Thanx in advance
Mike

This is how it is on my page:

<a name="top"></a>

<a href="#top">top</a>

It works fine when I rename the page to .htm but not if it has the extension .shtml

Any sugestions?

Mike

@soccer362001May 07.2004 — If I am recalling correctly it may be because .shtml has something to do with the server, but I am not sure.

@FaroutauthorMay 07.2004 — It does - but I can't see a reason why a normal tag like that won't work on a .shtml page?

It sounds like a small problem, but if I can't use these tags, I have to redesign my page a lot ?
