table in a <select> box

Is there a way to put tubular data in a <select> option for a forum.

What I mean is having in the option field two rows – the first would be a name and the second would be the word “select”.

This way they can put in the first character of whatever item they are looking for then press “select” to add it to the list.

@PhillMcMay 02.2004 — No. You cannot nest other containers inside a <select> element. You will have to create your own type of select using a table that appears when triggered by a script. But, I dont think the effect that you are attempting to get is worth the trouble. Perhaps you should find another way. ?
