The first web site, almost there. . .

Hello – what do I do next?
I just uploaded approximately 20 files. The front page was index.html. I had earlier tried some simple tests to see if I could get a page published. Approximately 5 files called “homer” and some other junk names were posted. Now when I went to validate using a ‘free’ validater it only looks at the earlier stuff I uploaded.

I used Netscapes Composer to write all my pages. The local browser works fine. The bugs are minimal and I can navigate without problem.

How do I validate the real web page. This is my virgin effort and somethings my mother just didn’t tell me if you understand my predicament.

Hopw do I run the site I just uploaded?

Finally, when he pages were loading from my local site the graphic were erased from the current page being uploaded. Is this right?

[B]Thank you much for the assist. I've got the major problems resolved, yet I have a graphics link problem to work out, like the images don't appear!. Something dumb, I suppose. But m files are in the server! Yes!!



I have been using 'HTML for Dummies' that seems to be enough for me after I discovered Netscape's "Composer" which has all the HTML work hidden.



Are 'frames' still popular? I recollect that they were being 'phased out'.



My directory structure is the_web/graphics(with files)/using files/(more graphics).

I uploaded the Graphics dierectory with one fell swoop. Something didn't happen!

@FangApr 23.2004 — Check the path to your images are correct and that they are on the server.

Frames can still be used , but are discouraged due to accessability problems.
