Creating log-in pages?

Hi guys,

I’m wanting to create a log-in page on our internet radio website so that our DJ’s can change their personal profiles, etc. I’d also like to have a managers crew log-in area so that selected trustworthy people can have access to our music streaming servers to make changes, etc.

I’ve been told that PSP coding is the only way to do it, and I believe that requires a database application on the server like Mysql or something like that.

The only problem now is that Mysql is very expensive, and we’ve only been running for a few months. Our station is non-profit making and survives from donations form listeners and DJ’s. Does anyone know if PHP is the right way to produce these pages?, and if so, does anyone know if there is an application that performs similarly to Mysql at a free/much reduced price either in the form of freeware or shareware software?

Thanks in advance guys!

@ConorApr 18.2004 — no problem, the login page will be easy. Are you planning on having a register page or manually inserting each user?
