Help Building PHP/MySQL Links Page

I have a new website that I am designing and wanting to put on a link page, with links to other sites, I have got a MySQL Database with a table called links

Here is the coloums in the database

linkID
linkName
linkURL
linkCategory

What I want is a page that will display for example

Category: Computers

Intel Corporation | HP | Cisco

___________________________________ _________________

Category: Software

Microsoft | Adobe | Myob

And so on

The above I want set out in a table,

I also want the links to look like this [url]www.example.com/links/links.php?id=1[/url]

And I want to be able to have a backend where I can add, edit, delete links and categories and also have a stat counter so I know which links are being viewed the most

Can anybody help

Do you know where to begin, and do you have any skills in MySQL/PHP programming? If not, I'd suggest starting out with maybe some less complex scripts, such as user logins (which you will need for the backend of this script anyway), and counters.[/font]
