Mozilla bug?

It looks like Mozilla don’t like the
window.opener reference
It refuses to close an opener when popup is closed

window.onunload=function(){window.opener.close()}

IE ask for close confirm and close it if OK, NS7 close it without comments, but Firefox and Mozilla 1.7b don’t.

Any thoughts?

@KorauthorApr 02.2004 — ? I have to... I have to do a CD, HTML type as client wants to, and I have to open a html page in full window. It is imposible without opening it from an intro page, as popup

@VladdyApr 02.2004 — I do not think Moz allows closing of the original browser window no matter what.

If it is a CD presentation type project AND it is for Windows environment, consider using HTA

@KorauthorApr 02.2004 — ? thanks, but no time to, dead line too soon. It is not a big problem, I have just noticed that when verifying with Mozilla. User can close by himself the intro page, but I just wondered why Mozilla do this (the Mozilla 5.0/Gecko for NS7 don't do that, as I have already said)... Thanks anyway.

@fredmvApr 02.2004 — From the Mozilla JavaScript console:Scripts may not close windows that were not opened by script.

... which is not quite a standard issue, as the page is an opener after all. The security reasons can not be involved in this case. As I have full control over that page (my page after all) and open a popup from within, it suppose that I can keep a full relationship from opener and child back and forth. I reckon...?
