I am trying to do what I hope is a simple task: I have a directory full of small HTML text files, approximately 900 of them. I would like, if possible, to setup a simple page that just lets me move from one page (file) to another, without having to code the links and file names of each file into the main page I want to see the files from.
I thought I might be able to do this by setting up an index.htm page with an iframe to display the target pages, and just add some simple code to make the browser move down the list of files in the directory, showing each one in turn via the iframe. However, the solution to do this is escaping me.
All this is instead of just pointing my browser at the directory and clicking on the files in question one-by-one, which I could do but would rather have something just a little more elegant than that.
Can someone suggest a simple way to do what I am proposing, or is it, in fact, just not as simply as I hoped? <g>
