Can this be done???

Is it possible to do the following with JavaScrip on a WEB page? If not, can you recommend another method, other then a technical SW language like LabView or a high level language like C++?

The problem: (A contrast tracker)

If I have a completely black background (actually a night vision video camera), and have multiple moving sources of light (white “dots”, each a very limited number of pixels in area) on a dark or black screen, is it possible to develop a mouse controlled “capture” window that when positioned over the “target” will track that selected light source and log the X,Y pixel position every “t” seconds to a data log file?

@KorMar 20.2004 — Yes, except the "log the X,Y pixel position every “t” seconds to a data log file" which can be achieved by sending the data to a server-side application (php, java, C++, pearl, asp... whichever)

Thank you very much for the reply. If this can be done on a WEB page it is desirable, but I have very limited experience and wanted to know if it was possible before spending the amount of time it is going to take me. I don't mind the time and it will definitely be a learning experience.

@KorMar 22.2004 — According to your prefereneces, basic knowledge, penchant for... you can do that either using full server-side application (java and/or php would be amongst my favourits for this kinda stuff) or Flash/DHTML combination (plus, as I said, a server-side application for log the data)
