word density VS using Synonyms

well if i were doing SEO for a pre school , what strategy is better ? going for a word density strategy or going with synonyms ? I.e instead of stuffing my content with keywords such as preschool only , using synonyms such as child care , montessori etc ? is using synonyms powerful and a direct indication to google ??
