@brad_jonesNov 05.2014 — Well structured web pages have alt attributes with all image tags. Well structured pages are likely to be given priority over those that are not. As such, better to have an alt tag than not.

@GeorgeZapatNov 13.2014 — In my opinion alt tag is quiet a important part in seo because it tells Google about the image. Without the alt tag Google will not be able to identify what your image is all about. Therefore, it is very much necessary to have alt tag in your image.

@brad_jonesNov 13.2014 — Off Topic:

I'm curious as to what motivates a person to respond to a thread with information that has already been stated a dozen times. This thread has a dozen posts that say the exact same thing. Is there a belief that the new posts add something different, or are they confirming what other stated?

I try to only post when I have something new to say, or when something needs emphasized. I don't tend to post something that simply repeats previous posts, so I'm trying to understand the motivation. More posts can help a forum, but more posts saying the same thing really don't help the original poster.

Thanks,

Brad!
