@anirban09PFeb 16.2015 — #Magento's installation process is not unlike other popular site platforms. You will need to create a database, choose your Magento package and make sure you have all the permissions set correctly to avoid complications down the road.
Magento only connects to MySQL databases, which can be created and hosted through most major hosting plans. This database stores settings, content, and sales information which results in the normal use of your site.
@r8rFeb 17.2015 — #@dotfusion being new to web development, starting out with magento and without the proper documentation is pretty much a sure way to self-flagellation.
That being said, magento themes are usually installed via magento connect, or alternatively by unpacking the archive contents to the corresponding folders in the source tree.
@rootFeb 25.2015 — #Take web programming instead, too many people go in to web design that does not adequately provide real world coding for the web, consequently we have people asking for help with some code that they have been using that is a hackers wet dream.
IMHO all web development should start with coding, learn about the pretty stuff after functionality.
@bobsmi366Jul 26.2021 — #It may appear that installing Magento on your hosting account is a technical problem. But the truth is that it's a simple procedure that can be completed in less than a day.
