A little advice for a aspiring web developer?

Hello all, I am looking at getting into web developing and unfortunately I can not go to school full time as I have to work full time to support myself. I was wondering what your opinion would be on this course as far as the content and relevancy to modern webdesign (from a language etc standpoint as I know you cant see the theory that would be taught)

I know alot of information is available for free but I feel I will learn faster if im challenged with tests, assignments and deadlines etc.

any help or guidance will be greatly appreciated, thank you!

@_David_Sep 08.2014 — If you're looking to educate yourself in web coding and to test your knowledge try http://www.w3schools.com/. You can learn the basics of web development languages all the way to advanced coding... for free. If you want to test yourself, they offer tests for free. You can also take various tests to earn official web development certificates for each language you "master". Those vary with cost.

@aframalikSep 08.2014 — Great advice although I think web designing and development education is also necessary

@_David_Sep 08.2014 — "web development" is a pretty broad term. Obviously the environment a structured education provides would allow the user to learn faster., but IMO you don't need to take courses or go to school to be a good web developer. There isn't anything you can't learn to do yourself through sheer research, inspecting, asking questions and visual ques, without spending a dime. Aside from hosting & domain cost(s). I'm not a super web developer by any means, but all of the knowledge is there for anyone with some free time & dedication. My2c.

Kind Regards,

David
