How to refer to a <script> definition from a short pagetext field?

Hi,

In a webstore system I have to define a javascript function on a page top section, to call it later on the page, and the only place where I can add the script is a relatively short pagetext field, which is too short to fit the script itself. So, I’m searching for a solution to add a short “reference” to the script here, and put the script itself elsewhere. Is it possible somehow? (And when calling the script will it “forward” the request to the function?)
