media capture through mic

This is my first post

I am a professional print designer, and a semi-pro web designer (I do basic websites and coding for clients who already work with us). I recently had a client ask for a site where customers could record their voice on the site, and after paying with a CC or paypal, get a link/download for their audio file (with an option to re-record taboot!)

I found the HTML5 media capture code …

<input type=”file” accept=”audio/*” id=”capture” capture=”microphone”>

however when I upload that to the server and check the source code all that shows up is …

<input type=”file” accept=”audio/*” capture>

my question is multi fold – first being where do I start? then – Is this the right place to start? Is this out of my league? Is this easier than it sounds? Am I crazy??
