animation question

last week i did do a search and couldn’t find what i was looking for.

what i’m trying to do is have animated (falling) snowflakes and i don’t want them to cause scrollbars

so, i need to know where the edges of the screen are… sides and bottom especially

is there a way to animate without using strictly coordinates?
more of using window height and width?

no -- it's code i wrote/adapted from one i had already... it's VERY long (192 lines) due to 6 flakes and all the coords... so i uploaded all the files.
